BERYL

Beryl is a set of modular trays wherein the choice of material is the only apparent indulgence in an otherwise calibrated and functional design. The hexagonal and trapezoidal components – utilizable as trays, cups for objects or pocket change – are the basis for a family of interlocking elements consisting of a maxi-tray in copper into which the smaller hexagonal elements are inserted, each one interchangeable and/or substitutable by 2 trapezoidal containers, creating a range of combinations that can vary according to one's taste or mood.
The designer thus reproduces a geometric play of objects that differ in size and whose colours are obtained by surface treatments of the metal. The final effect is a visual patchwork that accentuates the different surfaces and chromatic traits of KME range of copper and copper alloys.
